games you should play
here are some games i think you should put on your new computer jordan:
1) Eve Online
2)Homeworld 1/2 - you've never played these, i told you about them one time...good games..
3)Mechwarrior series - 4 - 4 is probably the most relevant, combined with a bomb ass joystick and good headphones, you will have a tight experience, this will also let you play flight simulators - if you do that try il-sturmovik
4) Total Annihilation - really really fun old game, Supreme Commander is the most recent incarnation of the playstyle, you should try Supreme Commander too
5)Hearts of Iron/2 - is that crazy ww2 game that i've been playing
6) Company of Heroes - pretty good/entertaining take on RTS/strategy while also keeping it fresh with a more detailed approach of WW2
7) Total War series - Shogun:Total War - completely groundbreaking, blew your fucking mind when it was out, then Medieval: Total War came out and that was even better.. then after Rome and Medieval 2 they became more concerned with graphics rather than tactics it seemed....they're still ok
AvP2 - fucking awesome. really thats all i have to say.
9)Operation: Flashpoint - pretty realistic tactical shooter - you probably wouldn't like it, but it has a pretty awesome atmospheric and encompassing gameplay after you get into the story, plus an organized multiplayer session is easily the most ridiculous FPS experience...
10) Civilization - 3/4, and Alpha Centauri - awesome ass games. alpha centauri has a very entertaining story
11) Quake 2/4 - single player quakes - quake 4 provided a pretty scary/fantastic alien fighting sequences, the planetary assualt scenes make the entire download worth it.
12) Deus Ex - awesome, i hope you have played it. futuristic fps/rpg - really choose a lot of things, how missions are done, what upgrades/repercussions
13) Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2 - Dark Forces - talk about bringing you back? this shit was some of the most fun i ever had just because it was so fucking good. graphics are shakey but the gameplay is tooooo fucking addicting. - the newer Jedi Knights aren't that bad and are also fun as fuck
14) Max Payne 1/2 - obviously grungy mafioso fps - pretty good story telling.
15) Black and White 2- skip 1- it sucked. 2 was not nearly as bad
16) Beyond Good and Evil - pretty awesome photography/conspiracy game that was waaaaay tooo underrated...
17) Red Faction - fps with destructible environment - it was OK... good back in the day...
18)Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 - if you liked Mass Effect, then you better play these....they're VERY similar but in the star wars galaxy.
19) Baldurs Gate series - HELLA good Rpg series...
20) Never Winter Nights 1/2 - fun d&d like games...
21) Command and Conquer: Renegade - one of the most hilarious yet addicting fps - and the multiplayer was pretty innovative..
22) Sim City 4 - don't worry about the older versions, they just get better with time...
23) Star Wars: Empire At Wars : when it first came out I thought the space battles were fucking beautiful. pretty fun game that you can have hours of fun with
24) World in Conflict - its pretty good looking and the strategy is refreshing when so many games come out and play/feel like the same bullshit..
25) Sins of a Solar Empire - legit strategy game
1) Eve Online
2)Homeworld 1/2 - you've never played these, i told you about them one time...good games..

Re: games you should play
http://www.mobygames.com/game/galactic-civilizations-ii-twilight-of-the-arnor
thats the space based game thats similar to the civilization series.
this is a game i never played:
http://www.mobygames.com/game/planescape-torment
but i hear amazing things about it, and have for years..
heres a pretty good rap up for RPGs in the history of video games..
http://www.mobygames.com/featured_article/feature,31/
and after reading it, i am going to try and give the gothic/the witcher a try out...i've pretty much played every game tho...
i was pretty excited that they mentioned this game: http://www.mobygames.com/search/quick?game=Mount+and+Blade
this game is the shit, and its an OK - indie RPG that i will probably end up buying just because of its minimal price less than $30 i think and its expansive with time..
